Roland DG has announced the launch of the VersaObject IO 300 and VersaObject RC-300 Series, two new industrial UV printing solutions designed to help businesses meet growing demand for high mix, short run manufacturing and product decoration.

The launches strengthen the company’s industrial direct to object printing portfolio, providing manufacturers, decorators, print  companies and packaging producers with new ways to deliver customised products, respond faster to customer demands and reduce the costs and complexities associated with traditional production methods.

Together, the two solutions support a broad range of direct to object printing applications while addressing distinct production needs. The IO-300 delivers high precision UV flatbed printing for industrial parts, product decoration and custom goods across rigid and flexible substrates, while the RC-300 Series is designed for direct cylindrical printing onto bottles, tumblers, drinkware, packaging, promotional products and other shaped objects.

Across industries, businesses are facing increasing pressure to deliver greater product variety, shorter lead times and more personalised experiences. Traditional analogue production methods often struggle to meet these requirements economically, particularly for small lot production, regional variants, limited editions and mass customisation projects.

The VersaObject IO-300 and RC-300 Series are designed to address these challenges, enabling profitable on-demand production with consistent quality, simplified workflows and greater operational flexibility.

‘Businesses today need production solutions that can adapt quickly to changing customer demands without compromising quality or profitability,’ said Kevin Shigenoya, executive officer, new business office, Roland DG. ‘While the IO-300 and RC-300 Series are designed for different production environments and applications, both help customers respond more quickly to demand for shorter runs, greater customisation and faster turnaround times.

‘Each brings industrial grade reliability, precision and ease of use to direct to object printing, enabling customers to expand their service offerings, improve efficiency and unlock new revenue opportunities.’

The VersaObject IO-300 is engineered for industrial parts decoration, product customisation and applications where accuracy, repeatability and durability are critical.

Equipped with newly developed print heads, advanced dot control and Roland DG's latest UV ink technology, the IO-300 delivers exceptional image quality alongside production speeds of up to 3.5 m² per hour in standard CMYK mode. EUV-H hard ink and EUV-A flexible ink options are available in 750 ml pouches, with configurations including CMYK, white, primer and gloss, allowing users to choose the ink that is best for their application.

A key differentiator is its advanced multi-layer printing capability, which improves both alignment accuracy and production efficiency. The printer is particularly suited to applications requiring precise registration across multiple layers, including industrial graphics, control panels, nameplates, promotional products, cosmetic packaging and customised consumer goods.

The IO-300 supports a wide range of materials including polycarbonate, ABS, acrylic, PVC, glass, aluminium, stainless steel, wood, leather and rubber, while its generous 770 x 515 mm print area accommodates a broad range of production requirements.

To further streamline operations, the printer features direct output control from its integrated display and remote management functionality, enabling users to monitor and manage key production tasks more efficiently. Included VersaWorks RIP software and Roland DG Connect print management software offer a full production solution right out of the box.

Complementing the IO-300, the new VersaObject RC-300 Series is a helical printer specifically designed for direct to object printing across a wide range of cylindrical shapes and applications.

The system enables users to print high quality graphics directly around bottles, tumblers, drinkware, cans and other promotional, packaging and consumer products, including objects with tapered and irregular geometries, eliminating many of the set up complexities traditionally associated with such decoration. A simplified workflow helps reduce setup time and minimise potential user errors, making high quality cylindrical printing more accessible for businesses of all sizes.

Available in two models, the RC-300 and RC-300c, these LED UV inkjet printers are ideal for short runs, premium customisation and fast set up of applications such as bottles, containers, promotional items and limited edition packaging. The RC-300c variant is specifically suited for printing on clear and translucent bottles, supporting beverage brands, packaging specialists and manufacturers seeking digital alternatives to traditional decoration methods.

RC-300 printers are compatible with a wide range of materials, including glass, PET, aluminium, steel, and rigid plastics. Advanced EUV-H hard inks in one litre bottles of CMYK, white, gloss and primer enable the durable production of vibrant colours, detailed graphics, and premium finishes without requiring custom tooling.

With production speeds capable of printing a medium sized object in approximately 60 seconds, the RC-300 Series offers an efficient solution for short run production, seasonal campaigns, limited editions and personalised products. As with the IO-300, included Roland DG software solutions equip users with additional tools they need to succeed.

The launch of the IO-300 and RC-300 Series reflects Roland DG's continued investment in industrial printing technologies that enable businesses to respond to evolving market demands.

From personalised promotional products and premium packaging to industrial parts, product decoration and customised consumer goods, both solutions help users move towards more agile, demand driven production models while reducing inventory risk and improving responsiveness.

By combining industrial grade print quality with simplified workflows and broad application versatility, the VersaObject IO-300 and RC-300 Series empower businesses to produce exactly what customers need, when they need it.

The VersaObject IO-300 and VersaObject RC-300 Series are available through Roland DG authorised partners worldwide from 1 September 2026.
