Durst P5 500 Tex iSub reaches milestone of 50 systems sold worldwide

Durst Group has reached a significant milestone with its P5 500 Tex iSub: 50 systems have been sold worldwide since its market introduction at FESPA Global Print Expo 2025. Sales have been particularly strong in North America and Europe, reflecting growing demand for highly productive and integrated workflows in soft signage, exhibition graphics and large format textile applications.

The milestone confirms the market response to the company’s approach to industrial five metre sublimation printing: combining print quality and productivity with inline fixation, software and an increasingly connected finishing process.

‘When we introduced the P5 500 Tex iSub in 2025, our ambition was not simply to build another five metre printer, we wanted to redefine how industrial sublimation production could work,’ said Johann Strozzega, director global sales graphics, Durst Group. ‘Reaching 50 systems sold in such a short period is a clear confirmation that the market shares this vision. The discussion is no longer about whether integrated five metre sublimation works. The question now is how efficiently the complete production process – from data preparation and printing to in line fixation and finishing – can be connected and automated. Our growing customer network gives prospective users an additional advantage: they can evaluate the technology at Durst and, where appropriate, gain first hand insights from companies already working with the platform in their region.’

With a printing width of 5.2 metres, water based sublimation inks and integrated iSub inl ine fixation, the system combines printing and fixation within one continuous production process.

The platform was developed for high volume producers seeking to reduce process steps, manual intervention and production time while increasing consistency, flexibility and scalability.

In 2026, Durst expanded the concept by presenting the P5 500 together with a dedicated five metre Hasler cutting system. The combination extends the integrated workflow from RIP and printing through in line fixation to the finished cut product.

By connecting printing, fixation and finishing within one production environment, Durst is addressing the efficiency of the entire process rather than focusing solely on the performance of an individual printing system.

To allow customers to experience and evaluate the complete production process under realistic conditions, Durst has established a dedicated World of Sublimation at its headquarters in Brixen, Italy. The facility brings together the P5 500, workflow technology and five metre finishing in a comprehensive demonstration and testing environment.

Prospective customers can run their own files, applications and materials through the complete production chain – from digital job preparation and printing to in line fixation and final cutting. This allows them to evaluate output quality, productivity and workflow efficiency based on their own requirements before making an investment decision.
