Montreal based signage and vinyl graphics business TrimSign has used Drytac’s FloorTac Textures one step polymeric floor graphic media to create a custom dancefloor and dining area for an unusual wedding.
Founded in 1996 by Ian Dreihaupl, TrimSign works with a wide range of customers from tradespeople and mid sized companies to larger corporate clients and events businesses. The company’s line up of specialist printing and finishing equipment allows it to create applications including – but not limited to – vehicle graphics, event graphics, signage, decals and window graphics.
This particular project saw TrimSign tasked with both printing and installing graphics on behalf of an events company for a wedding that took place in a field.

Four large platforms and three tents were built in the field near St-Laurent, Quebec, for the wedding, with TrimSign producing the graphics for the dancefloor and dining and seating area that covered more than 10,000 square feet. The company also created eye catching graphics for part of the wall within the dance area as well as a ‘nightclub’ platform, which was specially built to host the evening entertainment.
The project presented TrimSign with several challenges, primarily the surface on which the floor graphics would be applied. The rough, painted plywood surface meant it had to work with a reliable product that would not only apply to the surface with ease but remain intact despite being subject to heavy footfall.
For this reason, the company opted for Drytac’s FloorTac Textures, a removable, non damaging, printable adhesive vinyl that is ideal for short term indoor applications where graphics are applied to the floor. It is both slip and fire rated, making it ideal for high traffic areas where safety is a top priority.
The graphics were printed in-house on an HP Latex 360 printer and installed on site by the experienced team. The final design replicated a stone path surface to fit in with the wider theme of the wedding.
‘Production was relatively easy, with us only having to trim down the edges of the graphic, cut it into usable lengths and organise the prints into a logical manner for installation,’ said Ian, who serves as president of TrimSign.
‘Despite the challenges of the surface, the material remained in place throughout the evening. The client was very pleased with the job; it was challenging but also satisfying to accomplish.’
TrimSign is certainly no stranger to Drytac and its solutions, as the company regularly works with its materials across all manner of projects.
‘We like using Drytac products as it has a large repertoire of materials that suit just about every need, along with competitive pricing that helps us to stay within the budgets of our clients and maximise profits,’ Ian said. ‘Also, the constant innovation is amazing and is a great aid for us to meet the unique requirements of our clients.’
